The Southampton Shoals Lighthouse, built on the San Francisco Bay in 1905, contains five large bedrooms, three shared baths, a communal, fully-equipped kitchen and a living room with television and piano. Bed linens and towels are included as are bath towels and bath soup. Visitors should bring their own shower supplies and toiletries, hair dryers and pool towels.
The Lighthouse Tower affords sweeping views of Tinsley, our neighboring islands and the sinewy sloughs that flow between.
The Lighthouse has a fully operational kitchen with a refrigerator, appliances, pots and pans, cutlery, dish ware, etc., but you must provide your own provisions. We offer coffee, but you should bring cream if you need it for your morning cup of joe.
The Lighthouse maintains a library, games and a piano for use by its guests. Because items tend to come and go, we cannot guarantee which books and games will be available at any given time. Feel free to bring your favorite game to play while you are on the Island!
Wifi covers the Island; however, as the Island is remote, connectivity varies and cannot be guaranteed to be available in a particular spot at any particular time.
All visitors to Tinsley are permitted to climb to the Lighthouse Tower and savor the views of the Delta, provided this is done during daylight hours and in a manner that respects the rights of those who are using the Lighthouse as their home away from home. Common courtesy dictates that children may not visit without an adult and all who visit the tower should do so quietly and respectfully.
