Tinsley Island wishes to accommodate as many members as possible throughout the year. While many members and guests sleep aboard members’ boats on the docks, others may choose to stay in on-island accommodations. Reservations for these accommodations are handled through a lottery system that takes place at the conclusion of every season. The following timeline represents a typical lottery cycle; the Tinsley Island Committee set specific dates each year.

December 15, 2019: reservation requests are due to the Club
Early January: lottery winners are drawn by Club management
Mid-January: lottery results are sent by email to all participants
Late January: deadline for lottery winners to confirm or cancel winning requests
February 1–May 31: All available rooms can be booked on a first-come, first-served basis through the Front Desk at [email protected] or 415-563-6363. Any member can make one individual reservation regardless of the number of other reservations the member already has. That reservation is limited to one room per reserving member, with a maximum stay of seven nights and a minimum stay of two nights.
June 1–December 31: Any member can make any number of reservations regardless of their existing reservations. These reservations are not limited by number of rooms or number of days.
Reserving a Weekend
At all times, any reservation that encompasses a weekend shall always include both Friday & Saturday nights.
Lottery Deposit and Cancellation Policy
All confirmed reservations will be charged a non-refundable deposit of $50. This deposit will be applied to the lodging fee. Cancellations must be submitted in writing to [email protected] no later than January 31 to avoid being charged the lodging fee. Cancelled reservations will then be filled from the waitlist, and confirmed immediately. Partial cancellation of midweek days (Monday to Thursday) constitutes cancellation of the entire reservation. Cancellations received after January 31 will be re-offered to the waitlist first and then to the general membership based on Rules and Regulations 188.8.131.52. Cancelled reservations that are not re-booked by the Club remain the financial responsibility of the originally booked member.
