Chris Ray has published a beautiful new coffee table photo book, The Grande Dames of San Francisco Bay. Containing over 500 photos from every Master Mariners’ and Jessica Cup regatta since 2001, the book features beautiful, classic, wooden yachts, creatures of a by-gone era, whose owners have kept them in “Bristol condition”. Some boats look best reaching, some down-the-breeze and some look perfect going to weather. After decades on the water, Chris has an eye for showing each boat at her best angle, over a wide range of points of sail. Appreciating that each owner has poured impractically generous amounts of love, time and treasure into their yacht, this book is Chris’ labor of love to honor theirs.
