Sears Cup Looming and Who’s Got a Lightning? 
At last weekend's Area G Qualifiers, hosted by Richmond Yacht Club, StFYC's youth sailing team of Mats Keldsen, Spencer Paulsen, Ryder Easterlin and Juliana Testa finished first, earning the Club a berth at the Sears Cup.

Small Boats, Big Racing at Spring Dinghy 
After two weeks of relentless rain, sailors took to the Bay en masse on Saturday ready to harness the great breeze and momentary break in the drizzle. At the Spring Dinghy Regatta, 60 entries from five dinghy fleets made for dynamic racing. F18s zipped around the course heeling dramatically at high speeds, followed by a stampede of 505s, a hyper-competitive fleet of Lasers and Laser Radials, an adventurous bunch of Weta trimarans and a vigorous group of juniors in Club 420s

Announcing: Dave Perry Week at StFYC 
Dave Perry is coming to San Francisco, and making St. Francis Yacht Club his home base! A well-known author, coach, sailor and rules expert, Dave is famous from coast to coast for his ability to bring the Racing Rules of Sailing to life. During the first week of March, he will spend time offering lectures, coaching our Juniors and coaching the J/105 fleet of SF.

Sacramento to SFYC: The Cruisers' Group in Autumn 
Our Cruisers’ Group is as active as ever! They recently completed a fun cruise from Tinsley to Sacramento, including various on-shore tours and two nights’ stay on the historic Delta King. Looking forward they are planning a cruise to Tomales Bay in October, to San Francisco Yacht Club in November and to our own StFYC in December.

Top Talent Moves on to Finals in Kite Foil Gold Cup 
Following two days of tight racing in the qualifying rounds of Kite Foil Gold Cup, 35 racers move on to the Gold Fleet while 34 will race in the Silver Fleet. Conditions have been superb for the event, big breezes up to 25 knots, and race committee is counting on more of the same.

During Day One of racing in the Kite Foil Gold Cup 69 kiters went head-to-head in five races, working out the kinks and getting to know the venue.

Women of StFYC: Marion Lepert 
Marion Marcelle Lepert was born in La Tronche, in the French Alps. This young woman’s quiet determination and unassuming demeanor belie the fact that she is the U.S.’s greatest hope for a medal in windsurfing at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio.

The Hines Family: Four Generations of StFYC Sailors  
When the earthquake hit San Francisco in 1989, Dewey Hines was in the Club, meeting with Chef Karl. “We were in the oldest part of the building—the area with a foundation of beams resting on sand,” Dewey recalls. Just as that day has become an inextricable part of StFYC history, so too has the Hines family.
