Dear St. Francis Yacht Club Member:
It is time, once again, to submit your requests for accommodations on Tinsley Island for the new year. The Tinsley Island Committee’s goal is to accommodate as many members as possible. We hope you will consider Tinsley Island one of your relaxation destinations for 2018.
Enclosed is the Tinsley Island Lottery form. Using this form, StFYC members may enter the Lottery to secure lodging for themselves and immediate family. Please note that the reserving member must be the member who uses the accommodations. Lottery requests are now being accepted and the deadline to submit is Thursday, November 30, 2017.
Here is how the lottery will work: Page one lists available seven-day reservation packages (Monday to Sunday). Members may select up to five of these seven-day packages. If you select more than one, please indicate each selection’s priority by circling the number in the left-hand column, 1 being the highest priority. Page two is for all requests fewer than seven days; members may submit up to ten. Please write your requests in order of priority. You may submit up to five seven-day requests on page one and up to ten requests on page two.
Regular, Regular Non-Resident and Honorary Members’ requests will be given preference. Any reservation that encompasses a weekend will include both Friday and Saturday nights. Due to Toiler weekends, StFYC Cruises, Sailing Camps and other special events, some rooms may not be available on select dates.
When the Front Desk receives your Tinsley Island lottery form, they will send an email stating your form has been received. If you don’t get an email, please contact the Front Desk.
The lottery selection will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 and will be completed in stages, beginning with the seven-day requests, followed by the six-day requests, then the five-day requests, continuing down to the two-day requests. Accommodations that fall within the Summer Season will be limited to one room per reserving member with a maximum stay of seven nights and a minimum of two nights.
Once all lottery reservation requests have been processed, management may fill remaining empty accommodations from unfilled lottery requests even if it results in a member obtaining more than one reservation during the Summer Season. Once winners are drawn, and all accommodations are filled, additional entries will be drawn and put on a waitlist.
Lottery results will be sent by email by Sunday, December 17, 2017. Lottery winners will then have until Tuesday, January 23, 2018 to confirm or cancel their requests. All confirmed reservations will be charged a non-refundable deposit of $50. This deposit will be applied to the lodging fee. Cancellations must be submitted in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than January 31, 2018 to avoid being charged the lodging fee. Cancelled reservations will then be filled from the waitlist, and confirmed immediately. Partial cancellation of midweek days (Monday to Thursday) constitutes cancellation of the entire reservation. Cancellations received after January 31, 2018 will be re-offered to the waitlist first and then to the general membership based on the preferences listed in Rules and Regulations 22.214.171.124. Cancelled reservations that are not re-booked by the Club remain the financial responsibility of the originally booked member.
On February 1, 2018, all rooms that are still available will be offered to the membership on a first-come, first-served basis. Members may reserve online, or through the Front Desk by email (email@example.com), fax (415-563-8670) or phone (415-563-6363). Beginning June 1, 2018, multiple room bookings will be allowed, which means that any still-open rooms may be booked by a member, even if that member already has another room booked.
