St. Francis Yacht Club

March 20-21, 2004



1. Rules

This regatta shall be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS); (except as any of these are modified by the Sailing Instructions), and by the Sailing Instructions. All competitors are required to wear a life jacket or other adequate personal flotation device while racing.


2. Eligibility

The following classes are invited to participate: Farr 40, Beneteau 40.7, J/120, Express 37 and J/105. Fleets must have six boats registered by the entry deadline to qualify for a class start.


3. Entry

Entry Forms may be found on the web site or picked up at St. Francis. Entry Forms should be returned to the St. Francis YC Race Office by mail or fax by Mar 17, 2004 to avoid late fee. The Entry fee is $60, less $5 with proof of current USSA membership, if received by Mar 17. The Entry fee is $70, less $5 with proof of current USSA membership, if received after Mar 17. Late registration will begin at 0930 hours and close at 1000 hours on March 20, 2004.


4. Schedule

The first Warning Signal each day is scheduled for 1100 hours. A Sailors' Meeting will be held at 1000 hours on Saturday, March 20, 2004.


5. Sailing Instructions

The Sailing Instructions will be available at the check-in before the Sailors' Meeting, while an unofficial copy may be found on the StFYC web site by Wednesday, March 17, 2004.


6. Scoring System

The Low Point Scoring System, Appendix A of the Racing Rules, will apply. Four races are scheduled in the series, with two on Saturday and two on Sunday, all of which will count in a boat’s final score. One race will constitute a series.


7. Racing Area

The intended race area will be set on the City Front utilizing inflatable marks.


8. Berthing & Trailer Storage

All yachts competing in the event may be moored free of charge at the StFYC guest docks one night prior to the beginning of racing and one night after racing concludes. All trailers should be stored at the direction of the StFYC Dockmaster. If you plan on leaving a trailer in the City parking lot prior to Saturday morning or overnight on Sunday, please contact the Harbormaster’s Office 415-292-2013 for an overnight parking permit. All trailers without a city permit will be towed at the owner's expense.


9. Social

All competitors are welcome to attend a regatta party on Saturday night free of charge and to attend a trophy ceremony following the conclusion of racing on Sunday.
