Intermediate c420 Sailing

The St. Francis Yacht Club's Intermediate c420 program features the most versatile and popular double-handed junior boat on the continent. 420s are sturdy and safe racing dinghies, just under 14 feet long and ideal for learning double-handed sailing. Sailors will learn how to trapeze and fly a spinnaker and this course will elevate the sailor’s skills and understanding of teamwork, boat setup and tuning. Class emphasis is on building skill sets and confidence regarding trapeze work, spinnaker use and race strategy. This class is a great option for those who are interested in joining our c420 Race Team in the future. Only 16 spots available in the class.

This class is open to intermediate level sailors in 8th grade or High School. Sailors who want to push themselves physically in sailing and learn to be effective teammates. This is the pathway to the StFYC c420 Race Team.
