Learn to Sail Keelboats

St. Francis Yacht Club owns a fleet of 13 J/22s perfect for four-person crews. Learn the basics of sailing a keelboat, including skippering, trimming, mast position and being the bow person. You will be paired up with other sailors of your ability level and some of the boats will have a coach onboard. This is a great course for any sailors who would like to race on larger keelboats over the Spring or Summer.  For teams that would like to train for the Sears Cup qualifier, or the Clubs J/22 Spring, Summer or Fall Series.

This class is open to sailors of all levels in 8th grade or High School. Sailors who want race on keelboats in future races. Sailors who want to make sailing friends and be on the water. Sailors who enjoy cruising around the San Francisco Bay.

Requirements & General Information

Sailors must wear closed toed shoes, a lifejacket, and a helmet. StFYC has a limited collection to be loaned out on a first come, first served basis.

Sailors must be at class by 4 pm.
